Ingrown Toenail Management

Ingrown Toenail Management

  • Our Podiatrists are highly skilled in managing painful ingrown toenails.
  • Ingrown toenails may be a once off concern after part of the nail has broken off or an incorrect cutting technique. They may also be recurrent, influenced by footwear and the shape of the nail.

Conservative Management:

  • Gently cutting and removing the painful nail edge.
  • Ensuring the remaining nail edge is smooth in the sulcus.
  • Clearing all excess callus/ skin build up in the sulcus, which applies pressure to the nail causing further discomfort.

Surgical Management:

  • Our Podiatrists are trained in small nail procedures which can permanently remove ingrown toenails.
  • This procedure is done in the clinic under a local anaesthetic and is completed within 40-60 minutes.
