Diabetes Assessment
- Feet are commonly one of the first areas of the body affected by diabetes.
- Diabetes can affect the feet through impacting your vascular (circulation) system, neurological (sensation) system, as well as changes to the foot shape and posture.
- Uncontrolled Blood Glucose Levels (BGLs) can delay wound healing and increase the risk of infection.
- Our Podiatrists are trained in assessing the neurological and vascular status of your feet, and will refer back on these findings every 3-12 months to monitor any future changes.
- Our Podiatrists will provide education and guide you on the on the best care for your individual needs, and monitor as required.
- We work closely with your General Practitioner (GP) in regards to your diabetes management.
- Our Podiatrist will also recommend appropriate footwear based on the findings of their assessments.
